Our Mission

Collecting and recycling used cooking oil to power a cleaner, greener Southern Africa — one kitchen at a time.

The Devine Oils team

Our Story

Devine Oils (Pty) Ltd was founded in Pretoria and has spent 6 years building trusted relationships with restaurants, hotels, and catering companies across Southern Africa. What started as a single-city collection service has grown into operations spanning South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.

The used cooking oil industry is crowded with collectors — but few treat it as a relationship rather than a transaction. We built Devine Oils around the belief that a kitchen manager shouldn't have to chase a collector for payment, wonder where their oil actually ends up, or juggle separate suppliers for used and fresh oil. One account, one team, one standard of service.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3
Devine Oils reach across Southern Africa

6 years in operation. 4 countries served. Every collection processed into biodiesel — a fuel that measurably reduces carbon emissions compared to fossil diesel, keeping used oil working for the environment instead of clogging drains or re-entering the food chain.

What We Stand For

Purity

Every litre we handle is tracked from kitchen to processing — sealed, uncontaminated, and never resold as cooking oil. Purity isn't just a value statement; it's how we keep used oil out of the food chain.

Integrity

We agree a price before we collect, pay in cash on the spot, and issue a formal invoice automatically. No surprises, no chasing payment, no fine print.

Excellence

From a single restaurant to a multi-branch hotel group, the same standard applies: on-time collection, careful handling, and a team that treats your kitchen with respect.

Why This Work Matters

Used cooking oil doesn't have to go to waste — or worse, back into the food chain. Here's the real impact of doing this properly.

Lower carbon footprint

Biodiesel made from used cooking oil has a substantially smaller carbon footprint than fossil diesel — and a far smaller footprint than biodiesel made from virgin palm oil, according to published life-cycle studies.

Higher energy efficiency

Used cooking oil biodiesel returns significantly more energy than it takes to produce, outperforming both fossil diesel and virgin-oil biodiesel on net energy efficiency.

Keeps oil out of the food chain

Improperly disposed used cooking oil is a known route for illegal resale back into informal food markets. Proper collection and traceable processing closes that loop.

Let's grow together

Whether you're switching collectors or just getting started, we'd like to hear from you.
